Rumours of my passing have been greatly exaggerated (mostly by Greg) so allow me to welcome you all back to the one and only from yours truly.

Something that’s been discussed a lot this week is censorship in media and more specifically, our beloved comicbooks.
From Saga and it’s sometimes graphic sexual content to words that people find offensive (my personal feelings towards that are people getting offended by words offend me) to people getting all upset over what may have been unintentional but was at most a bit of tounge in cheek sexism (already been discussed at great length so leave it out haha). censorship seems to be something most of you are against but you still want people to censor certain words or opinions so as not to offend YOU personally which I find ridiculous.

South Park is a perfect example of this way of thinking seeing as they rip into everything equally but you’ll still always get one group or individual complaining about one thing they found offensive, they never care about what may have offended others and put on false righteous masks to stand up on their moral high horse and tell us all we should be outraged. But fuck all that shite, that again is a whole other discussion, I want to talk about GORE in comics.

The upcoming release of Evil Dead has me pretty excited and I just spent a week in hospital reading Punisher MAX, Crossed, Luther Strode and Deadpool. All are pretty gory titles (crossed falling into the ridiculously brutal category) but was wondering if anyone found this sort of thing offensive?

I grew up on a steady diet of ultra violent anime (Fist of the Northstar,Guyver) horror movies (Dawn of the Dead, Elm Street, Friday 13th) and videogames (hello Mortal Kombat) and I turned out just fine so i never get why folk find violence and gore in media so offensive. It also really fucking grinds my gears when violent entertainment is to “blame” for violent people in real life, by that way of thinking I shoulda grown up to be a fucking psychopath but I’m not and (contrary to what some of you will say to be funny) I have a very healthy outlook on life and treat folk with the same level of respect I would like to be shown (unless yer a dick, then ye can fuck off) so I don’t and possibly cant see what all the fuss is about.

So what do y’all think? Bit of mindless violence fun or the moral downfall of society? sound of below in the comments!
