Real life superhero Phoenix Jones had a little misunderstanding
with Seattle Police after they issued a statement with regards to their upcoming “May Day” preparations.
Some of you will remember last year rioters attempted to storm the old Federal Courthouse and Jones and his team of superheroes assisted police in dispensing justice (Google it if you don’t believe me) after officers were ordered to stand down.
Jones stated at the time:
“The police had to stand down and were not allowed to do anything. We didn’t stand down and we did something. We will act.”
Police reports had suggested that this year if there is a repeat incident “the department should restrict superheroes from interfering with law enforcement operations.”
The report was written by former Los Angeles Police Deputy Chief Michael Hillmann. It pretty much said Phoenix Jones should stick to the comicbooks.
Jones was pretty pissed at the the time and issued a statement via youtube but since then the police took to twitter to clarify the situation.
“Seattle Police Dept. @SeattlePD
We will not restrict the Rain City Superheroes on #MayDay. Enforcement will be reserved for criminal behavior only. cc: @ThePhoenixJones@Phoenix Jones
@SeattlePD THANK YOU AND ON BEHALF OF THE RAIN CITY SUPERHERO MOVEMENT WE LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING WITH YOU TO KEEP THE CITY SAFE.”
Seriously why don’t we have superheroes in Glasgow?
As reported by NBC over the weekend, A man dressed as Spider-Man has recently robbed a Starline tour bus employee for $6000 and is still on the loose.
The incident happened on Friday and since then LA police have been rounding up Spider-Man impersonators for questioning. (J)
Maybe Doc Ock took over his brain.
