Entertainment Weekly confirmed today that Cobie Smulders’ character Maria Hill will indeed feature in Agents of SHIELD.

A select few at SDCC got a chance to view the Agents of SHIELD pilot firsthand, and will by now have seen Maria Hill interact with Coulson.

Joss Whedon was quoted as saying:

““I wanted very much to have Cobie in the pilot because as much as anyone else, she IS SHIELD, She’s cool and commanding, and has the dry humor that plays so well with Clark’s. Also, if she’s in it I get to hang out with Cobie.”

So far one can only speculate about her involvement in the series, but given that ‘How I Met Your Mother’ is nearly wound up it’s safe to say that in the long run she will very likely be appearing far more frequently.

Agents of SHIELD debuts on September 24th Stateside.
