Zombies are everywhere these days aren’t they? Comics, films, and TV have all jumped on the undead bandwagon. So how do you make your zombies different to all the others? Radioactive zombies that explode when you hit them too hard, of course!
Green Hornet Legacy #41 is a tough comic to review. This arc has been running since #37, and started off strong. All of the elements are there for a decent comic book. A kickass team of heroes, a new bad guy, exploding zombies, a final page cliff-hanger, and great artwork are all present and accounted for, but by this point I am glad we’re finally getting to the end. This penultimate issue in the arc feels like filler, and if you have been reading this title, you may also feel that writer Jai Nitz could have gotten us to this point a little quicker. The supporting cast are almost surplus to requirements in issue #41, and some of the dialogue feels as though it was just thrown in for the sake of giving them something to say.
Fortunately, Britt Reid Jnr. is still front and centre, and still cool as a cucumber, so although this isn’t the best issue of Legacy I have read, the good stuff is still there. The book looks great, and overall the writing is still pretty strong. And come on, any comic book with a bad guy called Dr. Creepy is worth a look.
Rating: 7/10.
