I have watched Trigun as an anime but never had the time to delve into the manga. It is a great starting point if you want to get into manga with its fast paced action, drama, and comedy all rolled into one.
Trigun is set in Space, with a Old Western theme throughout. It takes place on a planet called Gunsmoke, where a man called Vash the Stampede is currently sitting with a massive bounty on his head for blowing up a city earlier. Bounty hunters then pursue him to get the sixty billion bounty on his head. The interesting fact about Vash is that he actually tries to use non-lethal force to set any scores people have against him. The story is very easy to get caught up in, with brilliant artwork along the way to keep you visually engrossed in the plot. It’s a great story that turns darker in spots, but with jokes and humor to bring the mood back up again.
With nearing 700 pages to go through you certainly are in this for the long run, but my god it’s awesome! If not, check out the anime, it’s only 26 episodes and well worth your time, who doesn’t love Space Cowboys?!
Rating: 8.5/10.
