I just want to start by saying that Mind MGMT is a very strange book. It looks like no other book on the market today, which is to say that it is hands-down one of the prettiest books I’ve ever read and Matt Kindt deserves a medal for doing the entire thing himself! On top of that though, to actually absorb everything in a single issue – from the story that runs up the spine, the actual story and just to take in the art itself – would take you double the time that would be spent on a normal 28 page book. That fact alone means you kinda have to be reading this! It also helps that the MM world is not only a world that you get sucked into, but one that you will secretly want to be a part of as well.
In a nutshell, this is a pretty good book to jump on with, but there is still quite a lot of background reading required. This month, we’re following a new character who is dealing with what would seem like a total shutdown of her memory and how that is affecting her. Whether or not it has anything to do with the other brief intros that bookend the main story, remains to be seen.
As a relatively new reader to the book myself, I know how difficult it is to get your head around, but it is incredibly rewarding once you do. And, with the second trade released a few weeks ago, there isn’t much of an excuse for you not to be reading this book by the time the next issue comes out.
