It has to be said that from what rumors are eking out about the reboot of Fantastic Four by Chronical director Josh Trank; That well they are somewhat left of the field. The latest one being that Josh Gad who played Apple co-founder Steve Wozniac in 2013’s “Jobs” is a contender for the ever loving blue eyed Ben Grimm.
Originally mentioned by Movies.com but also carried by others like Total Film is the news that in casting circles close to the film he may be the man for the job. It is believed that the new take on The Thing will involve CGI but even at that it does seem hard to imagine the somewhat corpulent actor as the gruff and street smart Ben Grimm.
Still expected as front runners for the roles of Mister Fantastic: Reed Richards and Johnny Storm: The Human Touch is Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan respectively. Both of whom will be in upcoming movie “That Awkward Moment” alongside Zac Effron.
Zac Effron recently commented on the prospect of both those actors being in the Fantastic Four adding “Bottom Line: These guys are good enough and in a position where they deserve that kind of role. I dunno… I have to kind of earn it a little more to be in a movie like that. It’s just different. I think these guys are fresh and brand new – I think these guys would be great in that film. I don’t belong in a film like that, not at all, no way.”
Of course there is nothing remotely official as yet, But with the current names being banded around it does seem to be enough to make even the most casual of Fantastic Four fans skeptical as to where the film is going from the source material.
