There have been a number of reports in the last 24 hours concerning the casting of roles in CW’s upcoming Flash pilot. Not surprisingly Iris Allen will be making it into the show. Yes, The future mother of Barry’s children and future future grandmother of his grandchildren inline with the comics will play a central figure in the show.

The news broke firstly via Deadline that actress Candice Patton (previously seen in The Game) will play the role of Iris who has been described as “Allen’s fast-talking, quick-witted best friend who is also the daughter of Detective West (Martin), who serves as a surrogate father to Barry.”. An interesting twist of the comic iteration of West is that she is played by an African-American actress but shouldn’t come as that much of a surprise as BCP contributor Lawrence previously highlighted the Flash casting calls, And this was stated.

The second piece of casting news concerns Cisco Ramon aka Vibe, A character most associated with the Justice Leagues often lamented Detroit Years will also make it into the show. The broadway actor Carlos Valdez  was announced on Variety.com to be behind the break-dancing vibrator. The character has in recent years since the reboot of DC’s New 52 seen a reamergine making it into the Justice League of America titles and also having his own short run ongoing series

The news of these questions begs other questions on who we can expected to show up on the show, For example with the news of Iris being cast in the show can we expect Wally West aka Kid Flash/Flash II, Her nephew to make it into the show.
