According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Criminal Minds and Layer Cake star is close to finalising a deal that will see him playing the deadpan occultist Brit in the new series, which will be written by Daniel Cerone (Dexter) and executive produced by David Goyer (Batman Begins).

The pilot is to be directed by Neill Marshall (Game of Thrones).
