I went into issue ten a little on the ignorant side as I had previously omitted the first 9 issues of the series from my pull list. This left me feeling somewhat lost in catching up with plot developments leading into the story.
However, what this made me realise is that issue ten is certainly not a jumping-on point. It just seems to rigidly follow past issues. With that in mind I wouldn’t suggest that anyone pick this up without at least delving into the last few issues for some clarity.
From what I got from the story, it features had your basic revolving door of Nazi’s, crooks and the Green Hornet, all in search of some crucial codes. There is plenty of action on display, though very little of the story involves GH and Kato’s alter egos – in this issue at least.
The art, whilst exciting and accommodating of the action, wasn’t anything that I found to be exceptional or at least anything to particularly draw me in. However, that isn’t to necessarily slight Freire’s illustrating, but rather to say that I personally didn’t find it to be anything unique within this particular issue.
Overall, I would say that this issue It certainly furthers the established plot along and has lots of action within it but – and I can’t stress this enough – this series has to be read in order or you will find yourself more than a little misplaced on just what is happening.
Rating: 3/5.
