It’s very early days, with very little to go on, hell, it could even be an awesome hoax, but a website for a Bananaman film appeared yesterday, with the hashtag #PeelThe Power, a 2015 release date, and a lovely crisp recording of the theme tune to the classic superhero cartoon.

Bananaman originally appeared in the UK comic Nutty, before moving to the pages of The Dandy and The Beano, but the character then spun off into an animated TV series. The story featured a schoolboy named Eric, who would become the titular superhero whenever he ate a banana. His rogues gallery included numerous send-ups and homages to American comic book characters including Skunk Woman (Catwoman), Clayman (Clayface), and Witchy Woman (Scarlet Witch).

Obviously, we’ll take this with a pinch of salt until further details emerge, but if there is indeed going to be a Bananaman feature, this could be a lot of fun.
