Following their recent announcement that the third Amazing Spider-Man movie has been pushed back from 2016 to 2018, it seems that Sony are shaking things up even further with a potential are female-led superhero movie in 2017.

With the villain-centric Sinister Six movie’s release date being confirmed as 11th November 2016, this announcement (courtesy of Deadline) represents the latest move in what has to be viewed as a significant overhaul of Sony’s plans for their “Spider-verse”.

Not much has been announced in terms of details or – most importantly – which leading lady they have their sights on, but Deadline have announced that Lisa Joy Nolan (Westworld, Reminiscence) has been confirmed for scriptwriting duties.

So, which female hero from the world of Spider-Man would you like to see make the leap to the big screen? Let speculation commence!
