Okay, so it’s unlikely that you’ve been on social media over the last few weeks without witnessing the new “Ice Bucket Challenge” craze that seems to be sweeping the globe.

The “challenge”, which effectively involves people pouring buckets of ice water over their heads, started in America with the aim of raising money for the Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) Association, and has to date raised nearly $5.5 million for the charity.

Interestingly, the thing that is causing the trend to spread like wildfire is the stipulation that, upon completing the challenge, the person then has to nominate someone else they know to do the same, and so on and so on.

Many notable superhero celebrities have taken part in the craze, including…

Arrow’s Stephen Amell

Robert Downey Jr.

And Star Lord himself, Chris Pratt.

You can find out more about the challenge, as well as make your own donation to the ALS on their official website.

The Ice Bucket Challenge is also being used to raise funds for UK Cancer Charity MacMillan Cancer Support, and you can visit their official website to find out how to donate.
