It looks like The CW will have a great fourth quarter with veteran series Arrow and newcomer The Flash. From the look of things, it appears that television will once again (see: Smallville) put together a Justice League of sorts well before the movies have a chance to.
The eighth episodes of The CW’s Flash and Arrow will each be two hour specials as part of a four hour ‘crossover’ event. We can obviously expect Arrow and the Flash to be teaming up, but could we see Robbie Amell’s Firestorm inserted into the mix? The focus on The Rouges as a group of supervillains suggests that this is problem that will require multiple heroes.

The Flash has finally found its Girder in the form of actor Greg Finley (Star-Crossed). The character is described as someone who used to bully young Barry in the schoolyard. Now, as a result of a twist of fate, Woodward is “a grinning lunkhead who loves destruction,” an “unstoppable force… who can transmute any part of his body into solid steel.”

Likewise, Arrow casts Matt Ward (TRON: Legacy) as Simon Lacroix aka Komodo, another villainous archer. Although the character is considered a villain-of-the-week, executive producer Marc Guggenheim says, “You’re going to know what happens to Komodo at the end of the episode, but it will be a little bit tied in better with the season-long mythology than villain-of-the-week episodes have done in the past.”
