image - CopyYet another company wide event is in the offing for DC next year, with the announcement of the “Convergence” mini series set to begin in April next year.

It looks like the series will address issues with New 52 continuity, by attempting to clarify the canonical status of certain characters and storylines from the last eight years of DC continuity.

Speaking to the USA Today newspaper, the company’s co-publisher, Jim Lee had this to say:

“What we’re really addressing is they all exist and have existed and exist within the framework of the New 52,” Lee explains. “Convergence is in many ways the most meta epic event we’ve done.”

We’ll see a villian introduced, too, in the shape of Telos, who is ” born of Brainiac and this mysterious planet”, according to Dan DiDio.

In addition, Stargate SG-1 and Continuum scribe Jeff King will make his comic book debut as writer of the main series; a coup on the part of DC in drawing respected talent to the medium.

Excited for this new event? Let us know in the comments!
