Marvel.com have just confirmed that David Tennant will be joining the cast of Marvel’s Netflix-exclusive “A.K.A. Jessica Jones” series as villain Zebediah Killgrave – otherwise known as “the Purple Man”.

Tennant joins Kristen Ritter and Mike Colter (Jessica Jones and Luke Cabe respectively) on the show, set to follow Marvel’s inaugural Netflix series “Daredevil”, which will air this April.

The announcement describes Kilgrave (one ‘l’, as opposed to the two ‘l’s of the comic version) as “an enigmatic figure from Jessica’s past.  Kilgrave’s reappearance will send shockwaves through the former super hero’s world.”

Executive producer and showrunner Melissa Rosenberg also praised Tennant in the announcement, adding that he will “make Kilgrave a truly original villain.”
