Another month and another fast-paced instalment in the increasingly crappy life of Judge Dredd.

Mega City One has gone mad, with every drokking citizen a honourary Judge for the day, with only one authorised target: Judge Joseph Dredd. The beauty of this setup is definitely the different reasons citizens have for going after Dredd. Some fear the new Chief Justice, others want the fame, or revenge, or to take down a fascist system. The people of Mega City One are fantastic characters, and I’m glad to see them taking an extremely proactive role in this story.

Dredd, while on the run, still maintains his winning personality, informing an unconscious and bloodied man that if he wasn’t on the lam he would be taking all of them to the iso-cubes. Comically frustrated Dredd is best Dredd in my opinion.

Nelson Daniel’s art is poppy and rugged, bringing danger and an over-the-top atmosphere to Dredd’s world. I’m also glad to see that Mega City One isn’t all grime, though that certainly is the background, as the colour work features bright primary colours which help bring these larger-than-life characters to the foreground.
