To help Hellboy celebrate his 21st birthday this year, Oregon-based microbrewery Rogue Ales are releasing a limited edition red ale entitled – somewhat fittingly – The Right Hand of Doom.

Set to make its debut on February 20th at Portland-based comic shop Things from Another World, the beer will be made available nationally shortly thereafter via the Rogue Ales website.

On the subject of the announcement, Hellboy creator Mike Mignola said: “When Dark Horse Comics published the first Hellboy story 21 years ago, I never imagine there’d be a Hellboy beer. But I really can’t imagine a better time for Rogue to introduce the Right Hand of Doom beer. If Hellboy was real I guess he’d finally be able to buy me a beer.”

We’re absolutely loving this, for the record, and can only hope it opens up the possibility for more comic-based beverages later down the line.
