Following his casting announcement courtesy of X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer’s Instagram account, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Let Me In star Kodi Smit-McPhee took to Instagram himself to thank the director.
The eighteen year old actor said: “I am humbled and honoured to be joining this incredible project and to be able to tell the story of the well respected young mutant Nightcrawler.”
Smith-McPhee will join a cast that already includes some impressive young talent, including Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Alexandra Shipp (Storm) and Tye Sheridan (Cyclops).
What do you guys think of the casting for this role – a role made famous by Alan Cumming in 2003’s X-Men 2?
