Deadline are reporting that Kelly Sue DeConnick and Matt Fraction are taking the leap into the world of television with a two-year deal at Universal TV.
The deal will see the couple adapting several of their comic book properties for television, as well as developing original series possibilities. They also plan to use their Milkfed Criminal Masterminds production company as a TV launchpad for other comic creators’ intellectual properties.
On the subject of the announcement, Universal TV EVP Bela Bajaria said: “We’re always excited to usher in fresh voices to the television space, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with Matt and Kelly Sue, a fantastic pair whose award-winning comics are as deeply realized as they are entertaining,”
One of the first projects the company is looking to develop as part of the Universal TV is an adaptation of the multi award-winning Sex Criminals, penned by Fraction with artist Chip Zdarsky.
Stay tuned for more details on the deal, but for the time being, are there any DeFraction projects you’d love to see on the small screen?
