Deadline is reporting that Hawkgirl will be the latest DC Comics superhero to join the ranks of the as-yet-untitled Arrow/Flash spinoff.  The part will be be played by relative newcomer Ciara Renée.

The official blurb describes Renee’s character Kendra Sunders as “a young woman who is just beginning to learn that she has been repeatedly reincarnated over the centuries. When provoked, her ancient warrior persona manifests itself, along with wings that grow out of her back, earning her the moniker Hawkgirl.”

She joins Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom), Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold), Victor Garber (Martin Stein/one-half of Firestorm), Dominic Purcell (Mick Rory/Heat Wave) and Caity Lotz in an undisclosed role.
