Remember those Saturday mornings when you got out of bed early, ran downstairs, swtiched on the telly and over your Rice Krispies (or Coco Puffs if you were feeling rebellious) and watched endless cartoons – some good, some absolute bonkers anarchy? But you loved it all. You only got up when your bum was numb.
Then you got older. Had children. And occasionally, you’d walk by the telly, see your kids watching cartoons and think “WTF is that?!” You’d attempt to engage all the while thinking “this is mental: incoherent, nonsense and waaaaaay too busy”. Well, that was me, reading this comic.
I am sure there are some comic fans who love tiny frames, black dialogue bubbles with white writing, lined with red and cartoon fantasy on acid. But not me. 12 pages in and I was exhausted. It does have a ‘Richard is Dick’ joke though. Always amusing, but ultimately, this simply wasn’t for me.
Rating: 1/5.
