While he has been heavily rumoured for the role for quite some time, it has finally been confirmed that Dominic Cooper will be playing the lead role of Jesse Custer in the upcoming AMC Preacher adaptation.

Seth Rogen (who is working on the adaptation alongside frequent collaborator Evan Goldberg) broke the news via Twitter.

Cooper joins Ruth Negga (Tulip), Joseph Gilgun (Cassidy), Ian Colletti (Arseface) and Lucy Griffiths (Emily, a new character) in the cast of the show, with Breaking Bad writer/producer Sam Catlin serving as showrunner.
