Wasting no time after green lighting the show, Fox has followed up by releasing the first trailer for their TV adaptation of Mike Carey and Peter Gross’ Lucifer.

The classic Vertigo series was one of the most successful spin-offs from The Sandman and continued the story of what happened after The Lightbringer abandoned Hell before taking up residence in a LA piano bar.

Instead of the comic’s epic theological themes, Fox are seemingly taking the story in a different direction with their TV series, adopting a police procedural approach.

With a pilot directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld) and starring Tom Ellis is the title role, Lucifer will run in early 2016 as a mid-season replacement.
