Valhalla Mad? Damn right I’m mad. This is one of the biggest pieces of unadulterated tosh I’ve ever had the misfortune to read.

I almost couldn’t bring myself to write this review – it took me 3 attempts to get past the first page – but you need to know how bad this is in case you consider, even briefly, putting money its way.

Not bad kitsch. Not bad ironic. Not so bad it’s good.

Just. Plain. Bad.

There is a kernel of a not terribly original but interesting premise – not-Thor and his gang return to Earth after an 80 year absence. What could’ve been at times funny and soul searching is just dire. Grandiose dialogue that is obstructive and sneeringly pleased with itself, truly excorable art that fails to evoke Golden/silver age and just looks infantile – no redeeming features. Everything remotely original here isn’t, as it’s been done before. It’s an atrocious vanity project from the most ambitious and inventive of publishers.

Rating: Truly, deserves 0/5.

  1. 0/5? Yeah, that’s kind of hard to take seriously. It’s not like words on the page don’t exist, or the book was done by a 12 year old.

So much for trusting this website for reviews, going forward.

I feel like I’m reading one of those reviews on Metacritic by a child that gives a video game a 0/10.

    1. Please, then, read the comic. I genuinely would like your opinion on it and the points I raised.
