With rampant fan speculation about just what role Chris Pine will be playing – if any – in DC’s Cinematic Universe, TheWrap claim to have the answer.

According to their report, Pine has just closed a deal to play Steve Trevor alongside Gal Gadot in 2017’s Wonder Woman.

While many had their fingers crossed that he would be cast as Hal Jordan in the upcoming Green Lantern Corps, Pine apparently opted for the role of Trevor – a multi-picture deal with sequel options.

It’ll be interesting to see how the character will be utilised, with speculation that he may play a similar role to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Nick Fury in tying the different movies together.

Either way, expect this casting to be confirmed shortly, hopefully with more details regarding the character’s role.

Directed by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman is set to hit cinemas on June 23, 2017.
