It has been confirmed by numerous sources, including her official website, that actress Yvonne Craig – best known as “Batgirl” on the 1960’s Batman series, has passed away aged 78.

Craig was the first actress to play Batgirl in live-action, joining Adam West and Burt Ward on the iconic series back in 1967.

She passed away due to complications arising from her breast cancer, and is survived by her husband Kenneth Aldrich.
