We already knew the Winged Wonder was going to be a part of DC’s televised universe this coming season, but it’s now been confirmed Hawkman will be a series regular on the new Legends Of Tomorrow series.
The CW’s third DC shared universe series Legends of Tomorrow will soon be with us and Executive Producer Phil Klemmer had revealed more about what we can expect, in particular, the addition of Frank Hentschel as Carter Hall to the regular cast.
Before that mid-season premiere though, Hawkman will make his debut in the Arrow/Flash crossover during the first half of their new seasons.
He was quick to assure fans that this won’t in any way take anything from Hawkgirl’s character, likening the Hawk’s relationship as similar to how Geoff Johns approached it in the original comics.
“It doesn’t [take anything away], because the way we’ve imagined them is that they’ve obviously been reincarnated through the ages together, but the fact that he remembers their previous lives and she doesn’t… it gives them very much like a Bogie & Bacall sort of [relationship].
They’re constantly fighting, and the fact that they’re destined to be in love is something that seems impossible to her.
That’s the kind of sentimentality that we really strive to avoid on this show. The fact that they’re going to be together someday, we try desperately at every moment to disprove that, this is going to be the one time that they decide to, like, shoot each other in the face.”
