“I don’t have a clue about what the final costume will look like.” Ciara Renee told us during Comic-Con, but now we have our first look at Carter Hall aka Hawkman played by Falk Hentschel and Kendra Saunders aka Hawkgirl (Renee).

Legends of Tomorrow began shooting a couple days ago, so it’s would make sense that we finally get our first look at the star-crossed lovers. Fortunately for the pair, they have been reincarnated through the centuries. The producers revealed Hawkman (Hentschel) would be 5,000 years old and retrain his memories of past lives, whereas Hawkgirl will not.

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim wouldn’t say if Hawkman and Hawkgirl’s would be labeled “aliens” or if their home planet Thanagar would be referenced in Legends. He did tell us:

“You’ll get a clear picture of what her origin story is and you’ll actually get a chance to see it. Fans of the comics will recognized an awful lot. It’s probably one of the more faithful original that we’ve told.”

The costumes have been adapted to fit into the shared universe of Arrow and The Flash, but remain pretty faithful to their comic book roots. Fans will obviously notice that the pair’s Nth metal wings are missing – Nth metal is a metal found in the DC Universe; it has unique abilities like negating gravity allowing the user the ability of flight. In the Justice League animated series, Hawkgirl’s mace could also confront magical elements head on. Most likely their wings will be CGI added in post-production or at least that what the teaser trailer for Legends suggests.

Renee made her debut during the season finale of The Flash looking up at the black hole tearing Central City apart. Although we haven’t seen Hentschel, Guggenheim said both Hawkman and Hawkgirl would be introduced in Arrow and The Flash before taking flight in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

What you think of the costumes so far, tell us in the comments below.
