The Aberdeen-based creative team behind La Baguette Noir’s Maidenstone – Chris Roberston, Scott Beveridge and Andrew Kelly – will be chatting and signing copies of both issues of the series on Saturday 10th of October at Asylum Books & Games in Aberdeen City Centre.

Having reviewed both of the first two issues of Maidenstone here at the Big Comic Page, we highly recommend picking them up, and you can check out some excerpts from our reviews below

An impressively engaging read, featuring a compelling protagonist dealing with a mystery that she herself may not be fully aware of yet. The bar for Scottish horror has been set incredibly high by the likes of And Then Emily Was Gone, but Maidenstone adopts an entirely different approach, providing a more grounded and decidedly less surreal take on the genre that proves to be every bit as effective. Once again, the strongest aspect of Maidenstone is, for my money, its visual aesthetic, with the scratchy, uneven black-and-white style of artist Scott Beveridge giving the whole book an unnerving, almost grotesque appearance at times. He is helped immeasurably in this regard by Robertson’s story which gives us several (albeit fleeting) glimpses of the true horror lurking on the periphery, providing the perfect outlet for Beveridge to flex his artistic muscle. The team will also be bringing along copies of Baguette Noir’s Silver City Anthology 1.
