Diamond Comics Distributors have just announced that they have entered into an agreement with Warpo Toys, the company responsible for the incredible Legends of Cthulhu vintage-inspired toys you’ll have no doubt seen on your news feed at some point over the last year.
Warpo’s 3.75″ Legends of Cthulhu line was funded via an overwhelmingly popular Kickstarter campaign last year, and has since expanded with the release of the 12” classic and Glow in the Dark edition Cthulhu figure and is looking to expand its merchandise offering seven further in the future to include a variety of playsets and plush toys.
On the subject of the deal, Warpo president Bryan Katzel said “It was only a year and a half ago when Warpo launched our Kickstarter for Legends of Cthulhu, and we’re blown away at the great response we’ve received from the toy community. The deal with Diamond is going to make Warpo toys available to a larger global audience, and we’re so thrilled to be aligned with such an incredible partner.”
Diamond’s Apparel and Collectibles Brand Manager Erique Watson added “Warpo Toys is an amazing find and has proven an incredible success for Diamond Comic Distributors. This new partnership is the natural evolution in Warpo’s continued success story, and we’re truly excited to be able to offer more of their unique products to our retailers around the world.”
Founded in 2013 by avid collectors and toy industry veterans Bryan Katzel, Eric LeFeber and Tommy Baldwin, Warpo is Making Yesterday’s Toys, high-quality collectible toys with a distinct retro look and feel. Taking an artisanal approach of “method manufacturing”, Warpo’s debut product line, Legends of Cthulhu launched with a Kickstarter in June 2014, and the company’s future releases include action figures, plush, playsets, and more.
