It’s safe to say that acclaimed publisher Vertigo is going through something of a renaissance lately with its current crop of titles, and perhaps none have impressed more than David Baillie and Mehgan Hetrick’s Scots-based series RED THORN.
We’ve been huge fans of the series since its first issue here at the Big Comic Page, calling it “a tense, gripping addition to Scotland’s rich history of dark fantasy tales”, and stating that “Baillie and Hetrick are working together seamlessly to weave this modern day tale of Scots mythology”, so with the next issue set to go on sale next Wednesday, March 16th, we’re thrilled to be able to give you a WORLD EXCLUSIVE preview of the first few pages.
The synopsis for the issue is as follows;
Red Cap Franint meets her newest admirers, and Thorn meets the God of Lost Faith. Isla and Tarek decide to work together and we get a look inside one of Belatucadros’s Upstart Gods. Glasgow has never looked better.
You can feast your eyes on the cover (featuring some very wise words, if we do say so ourselves), and some of Meghan Hetrick’s stunning artwork below.
