Geeking Out – It’s Chimichanga’ing Time!

So, sometimes, after a hard day’s heroing, villaining, antiheroing or just plain geeking about, all you really want is to grab some grub.

Yup, that’s right, this week we’re reviewing a new release from Multiverse Gaming Terrain, their Fast Food Set (CLICK HERE to buy), featuring a Mexican diner and a hot dog cart all for under 15 Euros (or equivalent). And of course, there’s a chance to win one for yourself, just by liking, sharing, retweeting and generally getting your social media groove on.

But before we get to that, read on, and grab yourself a slice of Mexicana…

Spread across three mdf sprues and two sheets of matte board of differing thicknesses, you really do get a lot for your money here. As I’ve now come to expect from Multiverse, their kits are really intuitive to assemble, even when the instructions occasionally skip a step: the walls go together easily, and lock into the base with a clever joint that ensures they remain vertical. As a test, I slotted the roof is on temporarily to check the walls were trim and true. However the support struts are extremely well designed, attaching in front of as well as in their peg slots.

From there, it’s a rapid finish as per the instructions:

However, I took the liberty of adding a door through the un-detailed kitchen area.

This is simply the mdf door-gap from the sprue; to Multiverse’s credit, we’ve discussed this and they plan to modify the kit for future releases to incorporate this.

Generally, the details – the panel doors, the toaster, the soda machine, the cute stools, the snazzy sign – turn a good kit into a really great one. Most impressive.

And then there’s the hot dog cart:

Remember I raved about how quick the bus shelter was to put together? This took 22 minutes including drying time. Sure it’s small but it’s an absolute wee gem. Another star offering from Multiverse.

These are fun, characterful sets that are great to build and highly recommended.

So .. want to win them?

Well, get your social media on, like these guys did:
