Marvel’s The Inhumans TV series coming to ABC and IMAX in 2017!

After a fairly erratic series of changes regarding the previously announced Inhumans movie, it has finally been confirmed that the Marvel property has been greenlit, in partnership with IMAX, as an ABC Television series.

As part of a production, distribution and marketing agreement with the theatre chain, the first two episodes of the series will premiere in IMAX theatres next September, followed shortly by the eight-episode weekly series, which will air on ABC in the fall.

While the Inhumans have featured prominently in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – another ABC property – this new series won’t be a direct spin-off, and will instead focus on Black Bolt, the leader of the Inhumans, and his family.

No writer, showrunner or cast has been announced as yet.

So, what do we think of this interesting approach to expanding the Inhumans franchise on the small (and big) screen?
