Variety have announced that director Joss Whedon will be making the jump from Marvel to DC, inking a deal to write, direct and produce an upcoming Batgirl solo movie for Warner Bros.

Nothing has been announced yet in terms of casting or timescale, but the article did confirm that other characters from Gotham will be appearing in the movie and that Toby Emmerich, president and chief content officer of Warner Bros. Pictures Group is overseeing the project with Jon Berg and Geoff Johns.
