The Hollywood Reporter have just announced that Josh Brolin has signed a four-movie deal to play the mutant Cable, with his first appearance being in next year’s hotly anticipated Deadpool sequel.

Brolin – who is also set to play Thanos in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War – joins Ryan Reynolds and Zazie Beetz (Domino) in the movie which is set to begin filming this Summer.

Cable is described in the articla as a man who is a leader and used to being obeyed, who is very controlled but with an aura of simmering violence.”

Definitely a little out of left-field, considering the names that were being widely touted (and speculated, by our very own Louise), but there’s no denying that Brolin could potentially make for one hell of a Cable.
