The Hollywood Reporter have confirmed that none other than Tom Hardy will be playing the lead role in Sony’s upcoming Venom movie.

They also revealed that Ruben Fleischer, best known for directing Zombieland, is in final talks to direct the movie.

Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner, the latter of whom worked on 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, have written the script for the movie.

And what’s more, it doesn’t look like we’ll have to wait too long to see Hardy in action as Eddie Brock, with the movie set to hit cinemas on Oct. 5th 2018.
