Graven’s Geeky Gift Guide, part 1: For the Geek Who has Everything

I have too many toys. It’s like the combined junk of The Collector, Grand Admiral Thrawn and Kivas Fajo combined in my house at times.

So I definitely have some sympathy when I get asked what to buy geeky chums/partners/Secret Santas as gifts this time of year.  So, to help with that, I’m going to give you a few little pointers for what to get for the geek in your life this holiday season.

(Oh, and don’t worry, there’s a giveaway in this for you if you keep reading.  Who says we’re not good to you?)

Answer number one is… Accessories!

Geeks love a good accessory, but it can be really tricky to know what they might already have. X-Wing players, for example, love custom acrylic tokens, but many will already have such things.

So, assuming you know their game of choice, the fine folk at Red Beam Designs have a solution for you: Dashboards.

Dashboards are essentially an easy way of keeping your gaming area tidy – not tidy in the sense that my wife would like, but rather tidy in a way that makes it easier when you’re actually playing the game.

So, we have versions for The Walking Dead: All Out War:

The Batman Miniature Game:

Great for all the tokens, and with dice-friendly versions and even double versions for large crews:

X-Wing:

With optional modular add-ons for upgrades:

And Shadespire:

For most games, 3 or 4 of these will be enough, and the MDF versions come in at around £10 . An anbsolute bargain, and can even be custom cut.

Of course, you might not want MDF, which isn’t a problem, as all are available also in Acrylic, which also look very snazzy in a range of custom colours:

Pretty cool, right?

So if you want to win one for the geek in your life (even if that geek is yourself), why not enter our contest? Check out the details below.
