Deadline are reporting that Kristen Wiig is currently in talks to play the villain in Warner Bros’ upcoming Wonder Woman sequel.

Wiig is reportedly being lined up to play Cheetah in the 80s Cold War sequel, which will see Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins return as star and director respectively.

The move is already dividing opinion online given Wiig’s track record for comedy, and with Wonder Woman becoming Warner Bros’ most important property after grossing $821 mil worldwide, it’s definitely going to be interesting to see how this situation pans out.

Wonder Woman 2 is set for release in November 2019.
