Sony can’t seem to help themselves from shoehorning the Green Goblin into any of their Spider-Man movies. Willem Dafoe played Norman Osborn aka the Green Goblin in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, then there was James Franco’s New Goblin in Spider-Man 3, and finally Dane DeHaan’s Green Goblin in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Continuing that trend, Entertainment Weekly has released the first image of the Green Goblin from Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse. The upcoming animated Spider-Man movie stars Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore) and is directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

The Goblin looks larger than life in this first image. Note the version depicted here is closer to the original comic book design whereas the trailer features an Ultimate Spider-Man inspired Green Goblin complete with demonic wings and all.

Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse swings into theatres Dec. 14.
