Looking Ahead to Week 2 of DC’s Daily Digital First Publishing Slate (27th Apr – 2nd May 2020)

After a strong first week of their daily Digital First comic releases, DC are looking to capitalise on that initial momentum as they head into week two, with creators like Gail Simone, Jimmy Palmiotti, Amanda Conner, Aaron Lopresti, Paul Pelletier, Rob Venditti, Mark Russell and many, many more bringing us a book a day from some of the publisher’s most iconic heroes.

Speaking about the initial announcement, DC Chief Creative Officer and Publisher Jim Lee said “Comic book fans want more access to content than ever before. This strategy is intended to get daily content to fans immediately, and also to ensure that when comic shops open back up for business, they will have new content and product that their customers will want. In the meantime, we will have properly stoked and protected the demand for comics, keeping fans interested in our characters and stories.”

With a lower price point (£0.99) and a slightly shorter page count (16 pages), these releases should hopefully help satiate DC comic fans while the disruptions to the Diamond-led direct market caused by the ongoing Coronavirus/Covid-19 situation continue.

And to help whet your appetite for this coming week, we’re throw in some solicitation info and preview art for the books set for release in the next seven days.
