This coming April, cult classic sword-and-sorcery movie Hawk the Slayer is getting a comic book spin off courtesy of writer Garth Ennis, artist Henry Flint and 2000 AD.
The six-part series, which continues the epic quest of the fan favourite movie arts with a bumper 32-page issue that hits comic book stores in April and will be available to order through Diamond Distribution’s Previews magazine. From January, the series will also run as the bagged supplement with issues of Judge Dredd Megazine.
The story promises to deliver direct continuation of the movie, which saw Hawk, who ā with his flying ‘mindsword’ and mismatched allies ā sets out to rescue a nun from his own deformed brother Vultan, played by Jack Palance at his scenery-chewing worst! Now, it seems that their victory was not all it seemed and greater battles lay ahead…
The series will feature cover art from Greg Staples, and you can feast your eyes on some of Flint’s interior artwork below.
