This September, Dark Horse Comics and Mattel are launching Masters of the Universe: Forge of Destiny, a brand new four-part prequel comic for the hit Netflix series Masters of the Universe: Revelation.
The new series will be written and drawn by the Masters of the Universe: Masterverse creative team of Tim Seeley and Eddie Nuñez, featuring colours by Brad Simpson and lettering by AndWorld Design.
Here’s the official synopsis:
On the world of Eternia, a fragile balance exists between science and magic–a balance kept by the universe’s mightiest hero, He-Man! On a peaceful mission to the island nation of Anwat Gar, the royal Eternian caravan comes under attack by the minions of the evil Skeletor. And on the island itself, the nefarious Evil-Lyn sets in motion a plan that could lead to all-out war!
We’ve been big fans of Seeley’s MOTU output for quite some time now, and after my repeated pleas during my reviews of the Masterverse series, it’s fantastic to see Nuñez taking over full art duties here, rather than just the ‘framing scenes’.
Masters of the Universe: Forge of Destiny #1 (of 4) arrives in comic shops and digital platforms on 6th September 2023, and you can feast your eyes on a couple of variant covers – courtesy of Freddie Williams II and Javier Rodriguez – below:
