As reported yesterday by Deadline, Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon) has been cast in the highly-coveted role of Supergirl in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s rebooted DC Universe.

It has been confirmed that Alcock, who played the young version of Rhaenyra Targaryen in the first season of the Game of Thrones spinoff, beat out CODA actress Emilia Jones and Meg Donnelly, the latter who voiced Supergirl in such DC animated movies as Legion of Superheroes and Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part One.

While Alcock will star in the upcoming solo movie, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (based on Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s 2022 comic book series), she is also heavily rumoured to be making her first appearance in Gunn’s Superman Legacy, set to hit cinemas in July 2025.
