Fresh out of Comic Con International in San Diego, Showtime have revealed that their Dexter universe is getting set to expand even further in 2025 with new series Dexter: Resurrection, with Michael C. Hall returning to the lead role as Dexter Morgan!

Hall will also narrate the inner voice of a younger Dexter (Patrick Gibson) in the previously announced prequel series Dexter: Original Sin, set in the 1990s. Original Sin will air in December 2024.

As for Dexter: Resurrection, a follow-up to 2021’s Dexter: New Blood, it will be set in the present day and will hit screens in summer 2025. The specifics of how Hall’s Dexter is going to return after being very much dead remains to be seen.

“We are thrilled to have the brilliant Michael C. Hall reprise his iconic role as Dexter Morgan in Showtime’s most successful series ever,” Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global co-CEO and president/CEO, Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios, said in a statement.

He continued, adding “While Dexter: Resurrection will appeal to the tens of millions of longtime fans, Dexter: Original Sin will introduce a whole new generation of viewers into this iconic series by starting from the beginning, which is sure to satisfy existing audiences as well.”
