After a storming debut this past Wednesday, BOOM! Studios have dropped preview artwork for BE NOT AFRAID # 2, the second chapter of the series described as “equal parts feminist rage and rural folk horror”, from Jude Ellison S. Doyle (Hello Darkness, Maw), artist Lisandro Estherren (Redneck), colorist Francesco Segala with assistance by Gloria Martin, and letterer Simon Bowland.
Here’s the blurb:
Is Cora a victim of God’s wrath or the cause? Cora’s childhood in Enoch wasn’t easy. A fraught relationship with her mother and a challenging journey to her faith in God has left her jaded in adulthood. Cora’s last encounter with a visitor led to her downfall and unleashed Jordy’s evil on the world—how can she trust that Mr. Phim won’t lead her into more danger?
On sale July 16th 2025, BE NOT AFRAID # 2 features main cover art by Reiko Murakami (Hello Darkness), and variant covers by acclaimed illustrators Tyler Boss (What’s the Furthest Place from Here?), and Jenna Cha (The Sickness).
