Ahead of its release “later this year”, DC, Warner Bros. Animation, and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment have dropped the first trailer for their upcoming three-part animated feature film adaptation of the classic Batman: Knightfall comic book storyline.

The movie – directed by Jeff Wamester and written by Jeremy Adams – adapts the DC Comics storyline by Doug Moench, Chuck Dixon, Alan Grant, Dennis O’Neil, Peter David, Jo Duffy, Jim Aparo, Graham Nolan, Norm Breyfogle, and Jim Balent.

The voice cast includes Anson Mount (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds) as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Michael Mando (Spider-Man: Brave New Day) as Bane, and Pablo Schreiber (Halo) as Jean-Paul Valley/Azrael.

Batman: Knightfall Part One’s official plot synopsis (for those of you who somehow missed out on the series) reads: “When the mysterious behemoth known only as Bane frees Batman’s entire Rogue’s Gallery from Arkham Asylum, the Caped Crusader is pushed to his mental and physical breaking point.”
