In what should be very exciting news for fans of the title – or fans of comicbooks in general – a documentary entitled ‘Future Shock! The Story of 2000AD’ is about to begin production, and will chronicle the 36-year history of the iconic publication through a series of interviews with all the key players.

The film is to be directed by Paul Goodwin, and no official release date has been announced as of yet. When asked about the project, Goodwin stated “2000AD is the comic that people don’t know they like. Its pop cultural influence is massive – it’s been referenced, homage and outright ripped off in everything from other comics to films to television to music – and yet too many people are unaware of it. So many of us owe a debt to 2000AD – both as fans and creators – and Future Shock! is our attempt to acknowledge that.”

This is a really, really exciting project for us at the Big Comic Page, and will hopefully help spread the word of the pop cultural powerhouse that gave birth to the likes of Judge Dredd and Strontium Dog.

We’ll be following this story closely, and will bring you any news on this project as it’s announced.
