Batman: Arkham Origins announced!

ARKHAM 3 details revealed! The third game in the series will be called Batman: Arkham Origins and it seems that the rumours were true, it is a prequel and will cover Bats’ first encounter with the villains.

It’s set on Christmas Eve and the plot features 8 of the best assassins in the world trying to take him down. Check out the upcoming cover for Gameinformer and see the first new villain!

Batman: Arkham Origins will be available for the Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on October 25, 2013.

Interestingly (or worryingly, depending on how you look at it) the game will not be developed by Rocksteady Studios this time around, and will instead being worked on in-house at Warner Bros. Games Montreal.

They’ve also announced that the first handheld entry in the franchise will be available on the same day. Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate will launch for the 3DS and PS Vita and is a different experience that picks up after the events of Batman: Arkham Origins.
