I’ve been catching up on my reading pile, and decided to read through the entire ‘Shazam’ New 52 Justice League backup story, from issue zero all the way up to #21.

And it go me to thinking… this would make a pretty great movie, right?

Somewhat hokey name aside, I think as a slightly more child-friendly DC feature, this could do really well. I mean, what kid doesn’t dream about getting super powers? Being super strong? Being able to fly?

And I think Billy Batson’s self-contained origin story could really do well if handled correctly. It doesn’t need to be particularly edgy. Just the simple story of a bratty kid who gets super powers then slowly learns how to be a hero is pretty much a winner in my book.

I dunno, I could be way off the mark, but I definitely think its a franchise that could have a huge amount of potential. But what do you guys think?
